Ivan's first trip to the Zoo..

I don't have pictures yet, but we all made our first trip to the Tulsa Zoo last weekend. Joey decided about 5:00pm on Saturday that we should go to the zoo, so we packed up and headed to Tulsa Saturday night. We got there around 9-ish, and Ivan was so excited about the motel room! He ran around, jumped off the window sill, played pillow fight with his daddy, just about anything but sleeping! He eventually knocked out around 11:00!!

We got to the zoo at 9 am just as they were opening on Sunday morning. This zoo is quite different than the Memphis zoo, not as new or as pretty, but hey it works. I think us and one or two other couples were the only ones there for a couple of hours so we had the whole zoo to ourselves!! We walked into one of the enclosed exotic bird exhibits, and Ivan said "I smell the poot monster"...(it was pretty rank in there!) He says the funniest stuff!

Ivan had sooo much fun! But by the end we decided to ride the train that goes around the zoo and he was nodding off to sleep, so we decided it was time to go home about 1:00. We had a really nice mini-vacay, it was nice and cool, and there was lots of shade and best of all NO CROWD!

No swimming lessons tonight...

We're getting some pretty good storms and the pool is shut down tonight. I have to say it doesn't hurt my feelings that swimming lessons are cancelled tonight. I'm such a wus! I'm so tired, Ivan and I have been goofing off around town until 7:00 every night waiting on swim lessons to start and not getting home until 8:30 and I'm wore out! I'm sure Ivan is to, last night he told me he was ready to go home!! He's getting pretty confident in the pool though, he wants to jump and doesn't want me to catch him. I have to keep a very close eye on our pool at home now and take the ladder out as soon as we get we out! I'm very paranoid about this!!

Yesterday when I picked Ivan up from school Lola (girlfriend #2) was sitting in his lap and he was holding her pretty tight around the waist. He didn't want her to get up and he sure wasn't ready to leave. He cried and was very upset that Lola had to get up out of his lap! He's a little stud-muffin!

I have taken his night-time diaper away and his teacher left him in underwear during nap yesterday, so he will be moving up to the Primary class before long! Ms. Sara told me he said to her yesterday "I'm going to primary and your going to cry".

Swimming Lessons...

Today is our first day of swimming lessons, can't wait to see what Ivan thinks of this!

When we got our swimming pool a few weeks ago, he was absolutley terrified because the water was over his head. He gripped me so tight with his legs I could barely walk. Well last week he had a breakthough. I put a pair of swimmies on his arms and he went crazy. "Throw me mama" "Put me under" etc.... And of course he cried when we had to get out of the pool at 7:30 pm! He was so tired his legs were shaking and he could barely stand up. Please ignore the dumb googles, Joey made us put them on before he would take a picture!

He was swimming with his daddy this weekend and jumped over the side of this 4 ft pool, the kid is crazy! I'm just glad he didn't go head first!

Memorial Day Weekend

Okay, so I'm just now getting Memorial Day pictures developed. The next roll of film will have skinhead pictures I promise.

Well this year Ivan loved Meemaw's pool! I think Ivan and Maddie would have stayed in it all day if we let them, no nap for these swimmers! I think this picture is so sweet, Ivan just loves Maddie.

While we were down we also got to go to Jacob's 1st Birthday Party!

Jacob was a pretty serious cake eater, I think if he'd had a straw he would have sucked every bit of icing off of that cake, it was hilarious. Ivan wouldn't even touch the cake I bought him for his 1st birthday!

Hope no one else wants any smarties sweet tarts! Ivan wouldn't pull the string on the pinata, but he sorted through the candy and only picked up the smarties.

Last night....

I have to share this, I was laughing about it all night.

Joey was watching a western movie last night (it was actually one we haven't watch ten thousand times) and Ivan loves to watch these with his daddy. Anyway, in the movie this cowboy was running from a bad guy with a gun, and he came to the edge of a ravine and way down below was a river. So he jumped and hit the water with a big splash. Ivan says, "Man, I bet that hurt". It was hilarious, maybe you had to be there, but everytime I think about the way he said that it makes me laugh....

My little Skinhead

Well I tried to give Ivan a haircut last night, and he decided he didn't like the electric clippers and tried to knock my hand away several times. So I ended up gapping him up really bad, so he got a buzz cut!! Joey made me feel horrible about cutting off all that beautiful blond hair, I almost cried!

This morning when I came in the bedroom Ivan and Joey were having breakfast, and I asked Ivan what he was eating. Joey says " What all the little white supremist boys eat momma, a banana nut muffin". I guess I won't live this one down until his hair grows back!!

Other pics from May...

Joey got some dirt delivered a few weeks ago, so we could level out some holes in our yard and have some topsoil to put under our swimming pool. Of course the first thing Ivan did was try to drive his tractor up one of these hills and flipped it on top of himself. I don't know who he scared worse.

Oh yea and before that he had to pee on both of the dirt hills.???..
Anyway these things kept him entertained until this weekend when Joey got the tractor out and worked the dirt into the yard and FINALLY put up our swimming pool!

Playing Catch-up for May

Did I ever post this one?.... I thought I did but I didn't see it listed....

Well I know it's June, but I have some catch-up to do for May...

Joey's birthday was May 21st, and Ivan helped me make him a cake. He cracked the eggs and held the electric beater most of the time, but you can see what his favorite part was!!

Also in May, Ivan attended his first school program, the International Dinner. Each class studied a country for a month and then represented that country in the program. Ivan's class did Greece and we made them Toga's out of white pillow cases. They got on stage and counted to 10 in greek, then they stood in a line and passed the Olympic Torch. Later I got on stage with him and sang 'This Land is Your Land'. He walked up on stage the first time with his class and I went and hid in the front row, but as soon as he spotted me he wanted me to come get him! He would not grab the torch! But his teacher said when they practiced this at school he would be the first in line every time to take the torch. Just a little stage fright I guess!!
