Aubree's Pledge

What we've been up to....

Well here are some pics from Ivan's first day of Kindergarten in Mrs. Farish's class. His daddy has been taking him and picking him up everyday, waiting in those long, long lines. I think it takes him 20 minutes to get to the door from the highway, which is only about 2 blocks away.

We got our bows out the other day and started target practicing. Ivan loves it. As soon as he gets home he goes straight for his bow. It's one of my favorite things to do as well, I've loved it since I took an archery class in college. Ivan is pretty good, just look at this form.

Oh and the blue tape incident... Let's just say he had more fun putting it on than taking it off. I particularly like the placement of one specific piece.... Those of you who know Ivan well know when one I'm talking about...

Oh my, Oh my, A Kindergartner

Oh, my little boy is one step closer to being grown! He's such a big boy, so smart, so polite, such a good big brother, I'm so proud of him. I know he'll do well on his first day and Kindergarten and beyond.

Will post pictures soon....

He started school this morning
And he seemed so very small
As I walked there beside him
Down the Kindergarten hall

And as he took his place
Beside the others in the class
I realized how all too soon
These first 5 years have passed

Remembering I saw him
As he first began to walk
The words that we alone could make out
As he first began to talk

This little boy so interested in learning to read and write
It seems as though he must
Have grown into boyhood overnight

My eyes are blurred but hastily
I wiped my tears away
Lest by some word or sign of mine
I ruin his first big day

Oh how I longed to stay with him
And keep him by the hand
To lead him through the places
He couldn't understand

And something close to fear
Was mixed with my pride
I know that he will no longer be
A baby by my side

He must have a chance to live
To work his own problems out
The privilege to grow and learn
Is what life is all about

And I must share my little boy
WIth friends and work and play
He's not a boy anymore
He's in Kindergarten today.

BOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!
