October 3rd

Well Ivan has finally starting going to his bedroom at night by himself without one of us by his side until he falls asleep. He's been doing this for a few weeks and I was actually suprised at how easy it was to get him to go to bed by himself. He cried the first few times, and found an excuse to get up such as, "I need a tissue" and then 5 minutes later "Here I don't need the tissue anymore".
When I tuck him in he says, " Cover up my head so Santa Clause doesn't see me", it just hit me why he's saying this... At Christmas time we sang Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and obviously he's talking about the line " He sees you when your sleeping, he Knows when your awake"... Hilarious!

Last week I also discovered how good he is at working with puzzles... Thanks to Montessori I'm sure. He put together a 40 piece puzzle and a 25 piece puzzle all by himself with absolutley no help, I wasn't even in the room when he put together the 40 piece Thomas the Train puzzle. He came in my bedroom and said "Momma I put together the Thomas puzzle. Are you going to say Wow?". I was pretty amazed when I went into the living room and seen the entire puzzled complete and laying perfectly centered on the ottoman! I don't have a clue how he did it!
