So after work yesterday Ivan and I made a trip to Harps Grocery Store and Bakery, which is our local grocery store. Ivan always likes to ride in the cart with the race care on the front, so he can pretend to drive as I stroll him around. This is usually why I like to go to this store, he stays entertained while I shop. That and they have Sanitizing wipes next to the carts so you can give them a wipe down. So anyway, this store has a really nice bakery with several cakes out for viewing in a cooler. Well I stroll up to look at the strawberries and pound cake, and Ivan starts screaming, "Look momma, stop, look at that!" He's spotted a really neat Disney Cars cake with the Lightning McQueen car on top and the whole Radiator Springs sceen on it. I said yea that's nice isn't it. So I continued to look though the strawberries when I heard an awful racket... "Don't worry momma I got it," he says.... I look up and he's got it alright, threw it over the side of the cart where it landed upside down.
I did not feel like buying a $20 cake that I would end up eating anyway! As afraid to as I was I flipped the cake over, gave it a good look and decided that it was still in good enough shape I shouldn't have to purchase it, checked to see if anyone was looking, then slipped it back into the cooler and took off. Is that wrong? It really wasn't in as bad of shape as I expected, luckily it had the clear plastic lid on the top, or it would have been a mess.
So I guess I've learned my lesson, and next time we'll just go to Wal-Mart where I can strap him in the top of the buggy!!
