Ivan sure does love time time of year!!! He lives outside. He just can't seem to get enough of it, he loves to ride his tractor around in the yard, chalk on the side walk, play in the dirt, basically anything that's outside! Our bedtime has moved until about 9:30 now becuase he doesn't want to come in until the sun is about to set, and it's wearing mommy out!!!!Now if his tractor could just keep up with Daddy's..... It's so funny he will lean forward (like this makes it go faster), and chase Joey around the yard while he mows!
Just ask Ivan how old he has to be to go hunting with his daddy, he'll get it right every time!!! Daddy says he has to be 6 years old, but he's training him early! When Joey got back from Kansas he set up the blind in the yard and put the decoys out, and they hunted until dark!! Ivan had to rearrange the decoys every 5 minutes, then come back to the blind and call them a little with his turkey call. Ivan seems to love it almost as much as his daddy, he would have slept in the tent blind if we would have let him!!
So after seeing how nice Christina's play area was at Easter, I decided Ivan needs one just like it! I found this one at Home Depot and it's just what I've been looking for with a place for a tire swing on the end and a sandbox under the slide!! I think Ivan will love it!!
Okay so anyone who was at the 4th of July reunion last year know's this is not the case! Ivan was not a fan of the small swimming pool in Meemaw's back yard last year! So yesterday I signed us up for Swimming Lessons! They will be for 8 days in June for 50 minutes a day. I told Ivan when he learns to swim Daddy will have to buy him and mommy a great big swimming pool !!
We have trees! This was Joey's chore before he's off to go turkey hunting again! (Give me a break).. He planted all 16 of our new trees last night, 6 for shade and 10 between us and the neighbors! These shade trees are supposed to grow 10-15 foot a year, so hopefully in a couple of years we'll have some nice shade trees, right now the only place we have trees are along are property line.
